As the provost at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, he oversaw five disparate colleges, as well as instructional technology, research, and enrollment management. The enrollment management strategies he implemented resulted in increased enrollment and a stronger student pool.
DiGate earned a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and did postdoctoral research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York before assuming a faculty position at Maryland. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of topoisomerases and DNA replication and has published in many well-respected journals such as Nature, The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Molecular Cell.
